The Monster Road Runner has a 572ci Hemi V8 engine that produces 950 horsepower. This contraption can complete quarter-mile passes in under 8 seconds given the force it produces. Interior has been pared down to fit a complicated and durable roll cage.

The Monster Road Runner is a real contender. Keep your hands off this Mopar!

Due to its ability to continually develop cars that rule the drag strip, Mopar has become an instantly known name in the automobile industry. From the exquisitely constructed leaf springs, which were created especially to do away with the requirement for a traction bar, to the high output Hemis that we are all familiar with and adore today. These vehicles have been applied in a wide variety of situations, but stock car racing, drag racing, and even pro-touring are some of the most enjoyable ones. It’s not unusual to find a lineup of these muscle-bound Mopar monsters at the drag track. But you don’t get to experience the amazing head trip that is this vintage Road Runner every day; it’s more than simply a stylish set of car seat coverings.

Speaking of car seat coverings, take a look at this before purchasing any.

The car has a ridiculous 572ci Hemi V8 engine that produces 950 horsepower, and it also has a 250-shot nitrous system that boosts the horsepower to almost 1,200. This contraption can complete quarter-mile passes in under 8 seconds given the force it produces. One would anticipate that the remainder of the vehicle would be just as flashy and loud given the fantastic engine powering this beast down the drag strip. Of course you would be correct. A strengthened Dana 60 rear end helps to keep the car on the ground, and all of the suspension components have been improved to handle that powerful engine.

The traditional look of the Road Runner is given fresh life by this whirlwind of a car, whose fenders appear to have been slightly extended to accommodate the large rear drag radials. However, several subtle cues and trademarks let you know that this is a Road Runner even though the interior has been pared down to fit a complicated and durable roll cage. The back wall of the car and the steering wheel also bear Road Runner logos. The “meep meep” horn, which imitates the sound created by the Road Runner in the old Roadrunner and Wile E. Coyote cartoons, is one of the coolest “easter eggs” that this car has.

Overall, it’s a fantastic vehicle, and we hope to see it again soon.
