Full Metal Beauty – The 1969 Camaro

Vintage Fabrications in Los Angeles built this 1969 Camaro restomod with a supercharged LS9 engine. The LS9 V8 produces 670 lb.-ft. of torque and 730 horsepower when the supercharger is mounted. Even the rear has sequential blinkers, which is a nice touch.

This 1969 Chevrolet Camaro with a supercharged LS9 engine is one of the best restomod builds we’ve seen in a while. It was constructed by a store called Vintage Fabrications in the Los Angeles region and displayed on the YouTube channel AutotopiaLA. Although they did an excellent job, we fully anticipate that not everyone will enjoy the design and atmosphere of this build, which is understandable.

If you like this 1969 Camaro restomod, you should know that the entire body is made of metal. That’s right, not a single panel of carbon fiber or fiberglass can be found anywhere, which only serves to increase how amazing it is. As a result, the daring hood with the front scoop and engine window, the aggressive front splitter, and other design elements become works of pure art. Even the rear has sequential blinkers, which is a nice touch.

You are aware that the front end is not from a 1969 Camaro, of course. Instead, that was given by a 2013 Camaro for a mashup that, in all honesty, looks better than these renderings of Frankenstein that we see far too frequently on Instagram. Again, we don’t anticipate that everyone will adore this design and its aesthetic appeal, but there’s no denying that these craftsmen do superb work.

Even stranger, the builders had to request permission from Chevrolet in order to include the LS9 in this build. Getting approval from the automaker was a big deal, which is part of the reason why they inserted the window to display it.

The LS9 V8 produces 670 lb.-ft. of torque and 730 horsepower when the supercharger is mounted. Those are fantastic numbers, but even better are the sounds the revving engine and supercharger make. You’ll have to watch the amusing video to find out for yourself, even if you think the car is a little on the ugly side.
